I’m on the “tall” side, so I have a relatively difficult time driving many exotic cars that are comparable to the Ford GT. I find them to be cramped and inhospitable, at least until you get used to them. For example, with many Ferraris, I find myself having the choice of either steering or shifting. If I want to shift, I must move my right leg against the steering wheel. If I want to steer, I must move my right leg against the shifter. If I have to shift while turning, I’m out of luck.
Getting into the Ford GT takes a certain technique, but one that is easily learned. Once inside you feel at home. Everything is ergonomically correct. No trying to figure out what switches do what, or how to turn on the radio. The driving position is comfortable, and the car is a pleasure to drive. Within five minutes you feel as if you’ve owned the car for years. The best part is that the air-conditioning blows ice cold even on the hottest day.
