Answer: I don’t think that you’ll do any damage to your car if you go over the bumps very slowly. The problem is what happens when you forget that they are there. At the very least you will wear out suspension components such as shocks absorbers, springs, and ball joints at a rapid rate. It’s even possible that you could break a ball joint, puncture your oil pan, damage your frame, or any other combination of nasty possibilities.
If your senior community allows motorcycles, you might want to consider one of them, as you’ll be able to go around the speed bumps. Cancel that idea…I just realized what would happen if you forgot about the speed bump and you were on a motorcycle.
