Upgrading the engine in your classic car from 2 barrel to a 4 barrel carburetion is a very common way of significantly increasing the engines’ power. However, it is imperative to buy and use components that have been demonstrated to work well together. An exhaust system that is too large can actually result in a decrease in power in the lower RPM ranges that we use on the street. An aggressive performance camshaft can reduce engine vacuum to the point that your power brakes will no longer work. An oversize carburetor will pour so much gas into the intake manifold that performance and engine life will be reduced.

About Steve
Steve was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1957. He grew up in a time
and place where cars were worshipped, and none more so than the
“American Muscle Car,” although this was a phrase that wasn't coined
until decades later.By the age of twelve he was repairing just about
anything with an engine. |
