Question: My husband is a muscle car fanatic who talks nonstop about the Plymouth Barracuda and the Dodge Challenger. His birthday is coming up and I would like to do something special. Do you know of anyone that rents out these cars for the day?
Answer: Unfortunately I’m only aware of a few places that rent classic cars on a daily basis, and they are located in California. One such place is called Regency (www.regencycarrentals.com) and they do have a 1971 Dodge Challenger available in Plum Crazy, so perhaps a trip to California is in order.
Closer to home in Southern New Jersey is Exotic Car Rentals (www.exoticcarrentalsnj.com), but to the best of my knowledge they don’t have American Muscle Cars in their inventory. Your husband would have to settle for the likes of a Ferrari, Porsche or Lotus, and who wants to be stuck driving one of those cars for a day?
If he’s been a really good husband this year, you might want to consider buying him a membership at the Classic Car Club of Manhattan (www.classiccarclubmanhattan.com). This membership allows him access to their collection of exotic and classic cars, including some American Muscle Cars. They also have branches in London, Glasgow, and Lithuania, so if he finds himself in Vilnius, they might just have a Barracuda or Challenger.
