This stunning Grabber Orange car is the Holy Grail of Boss 302 Mustangs. It is commonly referred to as a “Drag Pack” car because it was ordered with the factory 4.30 gears. An additional feature of these “Drag pack” cars was the installation of a factory oil cooler. This particular car is loaded with factory options and is documented by the original “factory to dealer” invoice. It also has a full Marti Report indicating that it is the only 1970 Boss 302 equipped with this combination of options. The car is in excellent condition. The paint is absolutely beautiful and is far better than the day that it left the factory. The engine (numbers match) is completely detailed to factory specifications. The rev limiter is intact as are the exhaust manifolds. The smog pump has been removed. The interior is also in excellent condition and is predominantly original with the exception of the carpeting which has been replaced with premolded reproduction carpeting that is correct for this car. Mustangs are amongst the most desirable of all collector cars, and this car is one of the rarest and most desirable of all Mustangs. 1971 was the last year that the factory installed a “Big Block” in a Mustang, and not only is this car equipped with a “Big Block” 429 Super Cobra Jet engine, it is also equipped from the factory with the “Drag Pack” option.
Ford produced only 531 Mustangs with the 429 Super Cobra Jet engine and Factory Drag pack option, making this one of the rarest Muscle Cars ever built!
